After Initial Gra-Gra, Ighalo’s Former Wife Makes U-Turn, Tenders Public Apology, Praises Star Footballer, Calls Him A ‘Wonderful Man’

Sonia, the former wife of Nigerian footballer Jude Ighalo, recently extended a heartfelt apology to him after a series of public disputes on social media. In a reflective post shared on her Instagram page, she reminisced about their shared experiences and expressed deep gratitude, referring to Ighalo as a “wonderful man.”

Sonia began by acknowledging her reputation for having a strong, mysterious presence, explaining that this is why she is particularly cautious about who she allows into her life. She admitted that ending any relationship or friendship has always been difficult for her.

She wrote, “My dear superstar, we have been through a lot together, and I am truly thankful for the grace God has bestowed upon both of us throughout our journey.

We both made efforts to make things work, even as we navigated the challenges of divorce. I appreciate how careful you were in shielding your family from the details of what was happening behind closed doors, understanding that it could lead to more conflict.”

Sonia acknowledged Jude Ighalo’s dedication to their children, praising his efforts as a father. She noted that despite the family pressures he faced, he remained committed to his role as a father. She also touched on the emotional turmoil he experienced due to their separation, highlighting the tension between his personal struggles and the public image of happiness he portrayed on social media, particularly on Instagram, to maintain peace within his family.

“I know how much pain you feel because of the separation from your beloved family,” she wrote, referencing the Bible verse John 10:10. “Despite the challenges, you are a wonderful man, and I will always be there for you, both physically and spiritually.”

Sonia further clarified that her intentions towards Jude had always been good, expressing her sincere apologies for any harm her previous social media posts might have caused him. She recognized the importance of peace in his life, especially considering the demanding nature of his career, and affirmed that she holds no bitterness towards him.

“I am using this moment to sincerely apologise for any negative impact my posts may have had on you,” she said. “Given the nature of your work, peace is essential, and because of your pure heart, I hold no grudges against you.”

She went on to express her hope that they both find strength and guidance from God to co-parent their children in harmony, ensuring their kids feel proud of both parents. Sonia concluded by wishing Jude Ighalo all the best, stating that they have both forgiven each other and learned from their mistakes.

“If I could wish for anything at this moment, it would be for divine grace and strength from God to help us raise our children in a way that makes them proud of us. I wish you all the best,” she concluded.

Their relationship, which has been in the public eye for some time, saw the couple separate in 2019, reconcile briefly in 2021, before eventually finalizing their divorce in 2022.
