Igbos Not Protesting Because They Are Inlove With Tinubu, His Government Most Loved In Southeast – Dele Farotimi
Human rights activist and lawyer, Dele Farotimi, has made a surprising observation about the recent nationwide protests in Nigeria.
Noting the geographical distribution of the protests, Farotimi suggests that President Bola Tinubu may have more support in the Southeast region than in other parts of the country.
This conclusion is based on the fact that no protests have been reported in the five states that make up the Southeast geopolitical zone.
The protests, which began on August 1, 2024, were organized to draw attention to the widespread hunger and inflation affecting Nigerians.
However, the absence of protests in the Southeast region suggests that residents there may be more satisfied with the current administration or less inclined to participate in demonstrations.
Farotimi’s comment highlights the interesting dynamics of political support and dissent in different regions of Nigeria.
