Nigerians Should Take Hardship As Trial From God, Must Stop Complaining — Says Jigawa State Governor

Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has advised Nigerians to seek divine intervention and forgiveness instead of protesting against the country’s economic hardship.

He spoke at a town hall meeting with 27 groups in Dutse, including the Nigeria Labour Congress, Christian Association of Nigeria, and National Association of Nigerian Students, who later distanced themselves from the planned protest.

Namadi views the economic hardship as a trial from God and urged the public to seek divine intervention, stating that protest alone cannot provide solutions.

He noted that the government has been providing food and cash support to alleviate the hardship.

The Commissioner of Police in Jigawa, Tijjani Abdullahi, warned those insisting on protesting to reconsider, as security agencies are prepared to maintain public peace and order.

The planned protest is scheduled for August 1-15.
