JUST NOW: Anambra Women Affairs Commissioner, Ify Obinabo Calls For Caution, Warns Bloggers To Desist From Reporting Harmful Lies

The Anambra State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Honourable Ify Obinabo, has urged Nigerian bloggers to refrain from disseminating harmful articles online, according to a statement from her spokesperson, Chidinma Ikeanyionwu.

This appeal came in response to a viral tweet on X (formerly Twitter), which alleged that Hon. Obinabo is detaining the mother of a defiled 3-year-old girl and attempting to cover up the case.

Hon. Obinabo clarified that the tweet originated from her refusal to provide sensitive case information to the individual behind the @PIDOMNIGERIA account.

The Commissioner emphasized that the administration led by Governor Soludo and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will never ignore such serious matters and is committed to ensuring justice is served.

She reassured the public that the state government is actively working to apprehend the suspect.

Chidinma Ikeanyionwu further explained that the person behind the X-Space account has been persistently contacting the Commissioner, pressuring her to divulge detailed information about the case.

While capturing the suspect is crucial, the government is currently prioritizing the safety of the 3-year-old girl and her mother.

Hon. Obinabo advised internet users to consider the well-being of survivors, stressing that the release of certain information could either facilitate or hinder the arrest process.
