Don’t Join Any Protest Against Tinubu, Hardship – Arewa Youth Tells Northern Youths

The Arewa Youth Ambassadors, an organization dedicated to raising political awareness and educating youth about their role in ensuring good leadership in Nigeria, has urged the youth in northern Nigeria to avoid participating in any protests against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking to journalists in Kaduna on Monday, Namadi Duniya addressed the recent dismissal and call for an investigation of the organization’s national coordinator, Comrade Yahaya M. Abdullahi.

The allegations against Abdullahi included tribalism and corruption. Duniya announced that Mallam Muhammad Lawal would replace Abdullahi.

Duniya explained, “The decision was made unanimously by the executives after an emergency meeting held on 13th July 2024 in Dutse, Jigawa State.

“We couldn’t understand nor justify the reason for the coordinator’s sudden change in behavior. His statements and actions no longer represented or aligned with the values of our organization, necessitating our call for action.

“Abdullahi’s recent outbursts, his attacks on the government and its economic reform policies, and his calls for protests have exposed his ulterior motives and lack of patriotism.”

He further remarked that Abdullahi remained silent and inactive during the eight-year tenure of former President Buhari, refraining from calling for protests or criticizing any of his policies. However, Abdullahi is now vocal and active against President Tinubu’s administration.

Duniya alleged that Abdullahi’s motivation is rooted in tribalism, noting that while Buhari is from the North, the same region as Abdullahi, President Tinubu is not.

He emphasized that the Arewa Youth Ambassadors would not tolerate a tribalist as their coordinator.

Duniya accused Abdullahi of covertly accepting money from sponsors to organize protests against the current administration, aiming to turn Nigerians against President Tinubu and potentially cause chaos.

He made it clear that Abdullahi’s actions and stance do not reflect the position of the Arewa Youth Ambassadors.

Duniya called on the organization’s members to reject the protests and urged security agencies, including the DSS and Police, to investigate Abdullahi thoroughly.

He stressed the need to maintain law and order and hold Abdullahi accountable for any public disturbances or disruptions to economic activities.
