Drama unfolded in the Mista Ali community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State on the eve of Ed-el-Kabir when the sacrificial ram of the Chief Imam, Imam Abdulkadir, went missing.
The ram, which was specifically purchased for the religious celebration, was stolen during a heavy downpour in the area.
The incident was condemned by another Imam in the community, Haruna Yaqub, who described it as “insensitive” and a clear indication that people have lost fear for God.
Yaqub expressed shock and surprise at the theft, stating that it is alarming that individuals would stoop so low as to steal a ram meant for a religious activity.
He urged the community to repent and follow the path of Allah, emphasizing that everyone will be held accountable for their actions in this life and the hereafter.
He encouraged people to desist from engaging in criminal activities and instead follow Allah’s commandments.
