Newly Married Woman Cuts Off Husband’s Manhood In Kaduna

A newlywed woman, Habiba Ibrahim, has reportedly attacked her 40-year-old husband, Salisu Idris, cutting his manhood while he was asleep. She has since been arrested by the police.
The incident took place on May 26 in Kudan, Kaduna State. Salisu Idris, a commercial motorcycle rider, recounted that the attack occurred after he returned from early morning prayers. As he was lying down to rest, his wife suddenly jumped on him with a sharp knife, nearly severing his manhood. His cries for help alerted neighbors, who intervened and prevented further injury.
Idris, who had been married to Habiba for about four months, expressed his bewilderment over the attack, stating that their relationship had been loving and devoid of any prior conflicts.
Following the attack, Idris was initially taken to a hospital in Kudan. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to the General Hospital Makarfi, and subsequently transferred to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria, where doctors worked to save his life.
Idris voiced his concerns about his current condition and admitted that the incident has made him fearful of remarrying.
His mother, Rabi Salisu, who has been caring for him at the hospital, mentioned that although they did not live in the same compound, her son had never complained about his wife. She also noted that Habiba’s parents are distressed about the situation and have offered to cover Idris’s medical expenses.
Attempts to get an update on Idris’s condition from the doctors were unsuccessful. Additionally, the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansur Hassan, was unavailable for comments on the incident.
