Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has expressed a critical view of President Bola Tinubu’s recent remarks that Nigeria is no longer suffering due to the reforms implemented by his administration. Ayodele contends that Tinubu is being misled by those around him and that Nigeria continues to suffer.
In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele elaborated on the worsening conditions in the country, attributing the growing economic hardships to the current administration’s policies. He highlighted that inflation has made essential commodities unaffordable for many Nigerians, describing any claims of improvement as highly insensitive.
Ayodele stated, “Nigeria is still bleeding, and while this may not impact the wealthy, the majority are enduring daily struggles and hardships. Tinubu should conduct a survey of market prices to understand the severity of the situation.”
He emphasized that the populace is in deep distress, cautioning Tinubu against being deceived into believing that the situation has improved.
Ayodele noted that many Nigerians cannot afford three meals a day, and conditions are deteriorating rapidly. “Don’t be misled; the suffering is pervasive, except for those in government,” he warned.
Ayodele further shared his personal experiences of supporting the needy, illustrating his close connection to the grassroots. He said, “I am intimately aware of the financial strain required to assist the masses with basic needs like food.”
Ayodele urged Tinubu not to celebrate any purported progress, as the cost of living has soared and the standard of living has significantly declined. He reiterated, “Don’t be deceived; people are deeply unhappy.” He concluded.
