RIVERS: ‘Don’t Be Afraid, No Man Can Shake You’, Odili Tells Governor Fubara

Former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili has once again expressed his support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Omoku-Egbema Road in the state on Saturday, Odili reassured Fubara, urging him not to fear anyone since the people of Rivers State are on his side.

Odili encouraged Fubara to stay focused on his “people-focused objectives,” emphasizing that the current administration’s projects are sufficient to secure the support of the populace for the 2027 election.

Odili, who served as Rivers governor from May 1999 to May 2007, stated, “Don’t be afraid because when the people are with you, be assured that God is with you and no man can shake you.”

Governor Fubara has been involved in a prolonged conflict with his immediate predecessor, Nyesom Wike, for the past year.

Wike, now serving as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated in April 2024 that his relationship with Odili, whom he had often called his “father,” had deteriorated.

Wike governed the oil-rich South-South state from May 2015 to May 2023 before being appointed minister by President Bola Tinubu.
