Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has urged his fellow officers to avoid accepting bribes.
In a response on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, May 19, Adejobi emphasized his firm stance against bribery, declaring it a taboo for him due to his status as a royal prince.
This statement was made in response to a query from a user, Valentine Kruze (@ValentineKruz14), who asked, “Have you taken bribe before?” Adejobi, through his handle @Princemoye1, replied, “No. It’s a taboo for a royal prince to take a bribe.”
He further elaborated, stating, “Taking bribes inevitably causes suffering to someone somewhere for various reasons, and it’s ungodly to engage in such practices.
Our primary purpose in life should be to bring joy to others. This is both divine and fulfilling. It is a principle I hold dear and a commitment to my duty.”
Adejobi mentioned that he consistently encourages his colleagues and others to adhere to this principle.
He concluded with a hopeful note, “May we have the grace to remain steadfast and purposeful in life.”
