JUST IN: Labour Rejects N48,000 Minimum Wage Proposal, Walks Out From Negotiation Committee

On Wednesday, members of the organised labour strongly criticized the federal government for proposing a minimum wage of N48,000 for Nigerian workers.

The Congress accused both the government and members of the organised private sector of disrespecting them with what they termed as “ridiculous offers”.

According to a report by Daily Trust, while the government proposed N48,000, the organised private sector suggested N54,000.

However, at a briefing held at Labour House, labour leaders expressed their dissatisfaction with the offer, stating that the government failed to provide any data to justify the proposed amounts.
