In a heartfelt plea for justice, the community of Ojoto in Idemili South council of the State has turned to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, following the tragic death of one Mrs Ifeoma Ajuluchukwu. The late Ifeoma was reportedly beaten to the brink of death by her stepson, Chiugo Emmanuel Ajuluchukwu, amidst a bitter family feud over the inheritance of their late father’s property.

Expressing their anguish, the community members conveyed their distress over Chiugo Emmanuel Ajuluchukwu’s alleged impunity, as he has been roaming free without facing consequences for his actions. Shockingly, it is claimed that he has arrogantly asserted his immunity from prosecution due to his wealth.

Responding to the community’s plea, The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare Hon. Ify Obinabo has vowed to pursue justice vigorously. She assured the grieving community that the governor is interested in ensuring people get justice hence, the government will pursue the matter in court to ensure that late Ifeoma Ajuluchukwu receives the justice she deserves.

Still speaking, Commissioner Obinabo issued a stern warning to perpetrators of such heinous acts, emphasizing that the government, under the leadership of the governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo is committed to holding them accountable.

She reiterated that any individual found guilty of mistreating widows will face the full force of the law, serving as a deterrent for others.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address domestic violence and protect vulnerable members of society. It underscores the importance of legal recourse and community support in ensuring justice for victims and their families.
