A middle-aged man has been reported dead in Bayelsa State after allegedly spending the night with a commercial sex worker in a brothel.
The lifeless body of the man, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was discovered on Tuesday in a room at a brothel situated in Yenagoa, the State Capital.
Reports indicate that the deceased, said to be a father of 12 children, had frequented the brothel located along Tombia-Amassoma Road in Yenagoa.
Allegedly battling with a stroke, the 40-year-old man, originally from Delta State, left his home around 8am on Tuesday to meet with one of the commercial sex workers, who was said to be a regular acquaintance.
Unfortunately, he was later found dead in one of the quarters within the brothel. Upon discovering his lifeless body, all the commercial sex workers reportedly fled the scene.
Residents in the area were attempting to identify the deceased in order to contact his relatives for the evacuation of his corpse for burial.
It was gathered that security operatives had previously raided the brothel and identified it as a red-light zone.
Mr. Tolumobofa Akpoebibo Jonathan, the commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) in Bayelsa State, confirmed the incident, revealing that the deceased was indeed a 40-year-old father of 12 from Delta State.
