JUST IN: Chief Of Naval Staff, Admiral Ikechukwu Ogalla Relocates Navy Training Base From Lagos To Rivers

The Nigerian Navy has announced plans to relocate its Naval Training Command headquarters from Lagos to Onne in Rivers State.

Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, the Chief of Naval Staff, revealed this during a courtesy visit to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, at Government House, Port Harcourt.

Ogalla emphasized the significant partnership between the Nigerian Navy and Rivers State, describing them as inseparable entities.

He outlined three main purposes for his visit. Firstly, he informed the governor about the upcoming graduation of civilian trainees who will join the Nigerian Navy as ratings. Secondly, he expressed gratitude for the schools donated by the Rivers State government to the Navy.

These include the Ambassador Nne Krukrubo Model Secondary School in Eleme and the Model Secondary School in Egbelu, Oyigbo.

Moreover, Ogalla mentioned that the Navy had renovated the school in Eleme and would be relocating the Naval Training Command headquarters there. He also highlighted the Navy’s recent successes in combating maritime crimes, particularly oil theft.

Governor Fubara commended the Nigerian Navy for its efforts and pledged continuous support from the state government.

He emphasized the importance of the Navy’s role in curbing economic sabotage, especially crude oil theft, and expressed satisfaction with the positive results achieved so far.

Fubara assured the Navy of the state government’s unwavering support and collaboration in maintaining security in Rivers State.
