Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Theophilus Y. Danjuma (rtd), expressed deep concern over Nigeria’s deteriorating security situation, describing it as a source of embarrassment and ridicule on the global stage.
Speaking at the annual Nwonyo Fishing and Cultural Festival in Ibbi Local Government Area of Taraba State, General Danjuma stressed the urgent need for decisive action to tackle the country’s security challenges.
He emphasized the importance of restoring the nation’s tarnished image by addressing the prevailing security issues effectively.
General Danjuma pointed out that the current security climate in Nigeria not only threatens the safety of its citizens but also deters potential investors and tourists from visiting the country.
Highlighting the grave consequences of the security crisis, he emphasized that the lack of security would hinder economic growth and development, making it impossible to attract foreign investment or promote tourism.
General Danjuma urged the government to prioritize security and ensure the safety of all Nigerians and visitors alike.

General Danjuma called on those in positions of authority to work diligently towards making Nigeria a safe and secure environment for everyone.
