Tragic news has just emerged from the Nigerian film industry as Junior Pope Odonwodo, a beloved figure in Nollywood, has passed away in a devastating accident.

The incident occurred as Junior Pope, along with three other actors, was returning from a movie shoot on Wednesday, April 10. The journey took a fatal turn along the Anam river in Anambra State, where their boat capsized.

Reports indicate that Junior Pope had shared a video of himself just a day prior, on April 9, aboard a boat. In the video, he can be seen fervently praying for a safe journey, highlighting the precariousness of their situation as they crossed the river without proper safety equipment like life jackets.

Tragically, the accident occurred during their return journey from the filming location, resulting in the loss of Junior Pope and the three other individuals on board.

Following the capsizing, their bodies were recovered from the river. Junior Pope leaves behind his wife and three children, leaving a significant void in the hearts of his family, friends, and fans.
