Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has swiftly appointed Omobayo Godwins, aged 37, as his deputy following the impeachment of Philip Shaibu. Omobayo, born on July 19, 1986, hails from Akoko Edo Local Government Area of the state. He holds a B.Eng Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering as well as an MSc in Public Administration from the University of Benin (UNIBEN), which underscores his preparedness for a role requiring both technical expertise and administrative prowess.
A member of both the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Omobayo brings a solid professional background to his new position. His experience as a Senior Maintenance Engineer at Dresser Wayne West Africa Limited, particularly in the South-South region, has equipped him with the skills necessary to excel in governmental operations.
