BREAKING: Fear Grip Citizens, Residents In Umuoji As Unknown Assassins Invade Home, Murder Community PG, Onyima

 

The President-General of Umuoji Community in Anambra State, Chief Silas Onyima (Ichie Ogidi), was killed by yet-to-be-identified assassins who invaded his home on Friday evening.

 

The attackers, numbering about 15, shot him dead, causing panic in the community.

 

Onyima, who was recently returned as the President General of the community, had presided over an election in the community before his death.

 

The state police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating that police operatives have been deployed to the area.

 

The police found the deceased in a pool of blood at the scene and recovered his body, depositing it at the morgue with the help of family members.

 

According to the police, investigations are ongoing, with cooperation from eyewitnesses and community members to track down the perpetrators.
