The erstwhile Deputy Chairman of Awka South Local Council, Chief Sir Chukwuemeka Nkem Pat Orjiakor has applauded Governor Soludo for another mouthwatering accomplishment. The governor was praised for empowering over 5,000 youth graduates of the “1 Youth, 2 Skills” program with a seed grant of Two Billion Naira and a target of 10,000 in the next batch.
Chief Orjiakor praised Governor Soludo’s empowerment as nothing short of revolutionary in addressing the issue of unemployment. Recognizing the significance of human capital development. The CEO of Stelconic Properties Limited stressed that it is the most valuable contribution a government can make to its people.
He said this in an interview with NewdayReporters on Saturday.
Hon. Orjiakor in his words said, “What the governor did with this empowerment particularly the provision of seed grants after proper acquisition of valuable skills is stunning.
“This is something unheard of in the history of this state. Things like this are not common so this is a major feat for this government.
“Personally, I believe that with this, the governor has proven to the whole country that he understands this empowerment better than anybody else.
“Big kudos to him, and hearty Congratulations to 5000 plus beneficiaries.” He concluded.
Speaking at the event, Governor Soludo highlighted the collective efforts made by the youth as they banded together into cooperatives. Recognizing their ambitions to expand their enterprises, he noted that the Anambra State Small Business Agency (ASBA) has set aside a special fund to grant access to sizable financial support, reaching up to five million naira.
He further expressed his belief that the youth hold the key to unlocking a prosperous future. He revealed his administration’s unwavering commitment to promoting sustainable empowerment strategies.
