Just in: Nigerian Senate Gets New Principal Officers as Bamidele, Umahi Emerges 

Following the tussle for majority principal offices in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, a new set of leaders have emerged.

According to the senate president, Godswill Akpabio, the leaders, who are all of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged through consensus.

Akpabio announced this on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, when the senate resumed plenary after a three-week vacation.

The positions announced by Akpabioare as follows: Opeyemi Bamidele Senate Majority Leader David Umahi Deputy Majority Leader Mohammed Ali Ndume Senate Majority Whip.

Meanwhile, for the Minority leadership of the Senate, Senator Aminu Tambuwal lost out as the Senate President announced the following names:
