Former Deputy Chairman of Awka South Local Government, Chief Chukwuemeka Nkem Pat Orjiakor, has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s resolve and efforts to attract investments into Anambra. He said this in an interview with NewdayReporters.
This comes at the back of the Governor’s recent outing with Ndi Anambra resident in Lagos where he called on them to return home and invest.
The CEO of Stelconic Properties Ltd, while addressing the topic said “Personally, i love what the governor is doing, I love his drive and vision of a liveable Homeland in Anambra. As a property developer, this is what we have been clamoring for, for many years now, that our people return home and invest. People should not be scared to come back to invest, because we have a lot of prospects here in Anambra and the current Government in the state is committed to doing things right.”
I applaud the governor’s efforts on this, most importantly, i love the fact that the governor is backing up his words with action by building requisite infrastructures, especially road infrastructure which is critical to attracting investments.”
“For example, I can tell you for free that the many roads he is constructing currently, across the state has been the reason why you are seeing the recent surge in real estate development in Anambra today.”
“There’s so many new estates and land developers who have come in to cover the housing deficit in the state. This i believe, is inline with the governor’s vision for a prosperous homeland and this is what you get when you have a visionary person like Soludo as a governor.”
“I really commend him, Infact, i applaud him for exceeding expectations so far.”
Sir C. N Pat Orjiakor, also seized the opportunity to call on Anambra youths, asking them to take to hardwork and desist from crime so that they can key into the good and youth-friendly policies of the Soludo’s Administration and as such become beneficiaries of good governance he is providing for Ndi Anambra.
Meanwhile, It can be recalled that last week Governor Chukwuma Soludo, during a town hall meeting with Ndi Anambra resident in Lagos, called on Igbo’s living in Lagos to return to Anambra and invest.
While speaking at the event, the governor said “Your host will never respect you if you don’t have a livable and prosperous homeland and we have a responsibility to leave Anambra State better than we met it,” Mr Soludo said.
He further spoke on the efforts of his government to make Anambra a business-friendly environment, informing his audience that “Anambra Investment Summit will be coming up soon in September this year.”
“Anambra is loading and the options are open. The need to change Anambra State from a departure lounge to a destination; the homeland consciousness must be inculcated in the perceptual mind of every Onye-Anambra,” Mr Soludo said.
Mr Soludo’s statement comes as some Igbo traders condemned the Lagos Government for not giving them proper notice before the recent demolition at Alaba International Market. A claim the Lagos state government denied.
Lagos, Nigeria’s most cosmopolitan and commercial city, has a huge number of successful Igbo traders.
