Encomium as Ngozika Obi-Ani of University of Nigeria Becomes Only Nigerian To Recieve Prestigious STIAS Iso Lomso Fellowship

An award winning scholar and lecturer from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Dr. Ngozika Anthonia Obi-Ani, earlier this week received the award of the prestigious STIAS Iso Lomso Fellowship.

Dr. Mrs. Obi-Ani, who was the only Nigerian selected this year after the Fellowship competition, will be joining the seventh cohort of Iso Lomso Fellows.

Anthonia Obi-Ani, follows the footsteps of other Nigerian scholars who have won the award in the past. Nigerian scholar Paul Ayodele Onanuga,  received the award last year.

The news was contained in a release by Stellenbosch Institute on their official website.

According to the release, “Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS) is pleased to announce its seventh cohort of Iso Lomso Fellows for applications submitted during its October 2022 Call. For this Call, STIAS received more than 120 applications.

The following candidates have been awarded the prestigious three-year fellowship at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study and will be attached to the Institute from 2024 to 2026.

The fellows are listed, with their project titles, in the order that they appear above from left to right and top to bottom. Project abstracts may be found via the links on the right.

Jean Louis K. E. Fendji, based at the School of Chemical Engineering and Mineral Industries, University of Ngaoundere, Cameroon.

Faith Kandie, based at the Department of Biological Science, Moi University, Kenya.

Dr. Mrs. Ngozika Anthonia Obi-Ani is a scholar of African History and Lecturer with the Department of History, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She’s an advocate of women development and empowerment.
