The students of Federal College of Education Technical, (FCET) Umunze were part of the students that benefited from the NANS Agric summit held yesterday in Awka, Anambra State.
The training which was organized by the NANS JCC Anambra, had students of FCET Umunze as most beneficiaries.
The AGRO-PRENEURSHIP SUMMIT with the theme “Empowering the young Generation to engage in Agriculture for sustainable national Development” had powerful speakers such as Dr Ibe Ibeabughichi Uko, Hon Arinze Omenwa, Anambra State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon Foster Ihejiofor amongst others. The event was held yesterday, 26th of may 2023 at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.
The keynote speaker, Amb. Engr. Prince Nonso Nwankwo, while speaking said “You are sleeping as if you are competing with the dead and still want to prosper in the land of the living.” He also added that as a student, u don’t need to graduate before starting. “The best time to start is while in school.”
The students who were privileged to be in attendance at the Summit received special training specifically on Agriculture and Agric business.
The NANS JCC leadership led by Comrade Chibuike Nneke, applauded the SUG leadership of FCET Umunze led by Comrade Chinedu Onwuadike for prioritizing the interest of his students and using his office to ensure that most of them benefited from the summit.
Meanwhile, the SUG President of FCET Umunze, Comrade Chinedu Onwuadike was full of praise to the NANS JCC Anambra leadership for putting together such an amazing summit the result of which he called timely.
In his words, “I am very pleased with the summit. I think it is timely, considering the level of unemployment and the magnanimous opportunities that are hidden in Agriculture.”
He also praised the speakers at the Summit, saying that they were square pegs in square holes.
” I am particularly impressed by the quality of speakers we saw here. They did justice to the subject. I don’t believe there’s anybody that attended this summit that wasn’t impacted. This is pure empowerment, the speakers were square pegs in square holes. I am impressed and at same time happy that my students are beneficiaries of this.” He said.
